Hudson County and Hoboken Republicans Celebrate Dismissal of Frivolous Lawsuit

Hoboken-Today, Republican County Chairman Jose Arango and Hoboken City Chairman Joseph Branco celebrated the dismissal of a lawsuit to overturn the municipal chair elections of June, 2021. The lawsuit, filed by repeatedly defeated candidate Joshua Einstein, failed to deter Chairman Branco and his allies from building the local party. Hudson County Judge Jeffrey Jablonski tossed the lawsuit late last week.

“My former opponent could not get enough support for the State Committee post he already held and had been censured by the state Republican Party. He declined to run for re-election. Then I defeated him and several of his key allies for county committee. He lost by a decisive margin to me for Chair, and then went to lose to our evergreen County Chairman (and state Chair of Chairs) Jose Arango by a pathetic 118-2 margin. You would think at that point maybe Josh would have taken the summer off or tried to reconcile for the better of the Party. Instead, we get sued,” Branco related.

“That didn’t stop us. We raised $25,000 for and held an electric rally for Jack Ciattarelli on the waterfront and produced much improved showings in Hoboken for the whole ticket. Then, two weeks ago, we did the unthinkable. We led a coalition that beat back a bloated tax increase referendum by a 2-1 landslide. And we are getting ready to field an exciting and diverse slate of GOP candidates for 2022. I encourage everyone to join our team to fight for lower taxes, safer streets and economic prosperity,” Branco said.

Chairman Arango was also happy with the outcome. “I can see the positive difference Joe and his team are making in Hoboken and look forward to working with them for many years to come.” Arango concluded.
