Hudson County Republican Officials Call For Orderly End to Washington Demonstration
Jersey City, NJ— January 6, 2021 — Today leadership of the Republican Party in Hudson County, NJ provided the following statements on the escalating protests in Washington, DC.
Chairman of the Republican Committee of Hudson County, Jose Arango stated, “The Republican Party is the advocate of law and order. The right to peaceful protest does not justify an assault on our nation’s Capitol building.” He further added, “In the interest of our democracy all demonstrators should clear from the Capitol so that Congress can continue civil debate and conclusion of the election.”
Jeff Budney, Chairman of the Jersey City Republican Municipal Committee added, “The Republican party champions freedom and liberty for all, but these principles are not upheld by lawless behavior. The demonstrators must respect law enforcement officials as they peacefully disperse.”
