Hudson County Republican Party Congratulates Commissioner-Elect Arroyo and Sires Team

West New York-In a hard-fought campaign about West New York’s future, Marcos Arroyo has prevailed as part of the team with former Congressman and Mayor Albio Sires. Mr. Arroyo is a loyal Republican who ran for Congress in the 8th District in 2022. Despite a spirited challenge, the Sires team and Arroyo has won a 3-2 victory, including winning 2/3 early votes and 75 percent of the town’s districts. During Sires’ three terms as Mayor from 1995-2007, West New York boomed with very effective redevelopment of the town’s waterfront. Arroyo hopes to be part of the same kind of positive energy in this coming Sires’ administration.
“It is really good to see Albio return as Mayor and to have one of our own, Marcos Arroyo, as part of his team. Things look good for West New York and it is great to see some of our ideas and goals are part of that positive future for my hometown,” said Hudson County Republican Chair Jose Arango. Mr. Arango represented West New York in the Assembly in the 1980s. In addition to being the longest serving Republican Chair in the state, Arango serves as Chair of all County Chairs.
“Good politics and government requires teamwork. We are lucky in West New York to put the community first before partisan divides. In addition, the support of the volunteers, text messages and mailers from the Republican Party boosted our vote. I look forward to hitting the ground running and bringing my ideas and perspective to create a better West New York,” said Commissioner-elect Arroyo.
The Hudson County Republicans look forward to building more coalitions in municipal elections, as well as electing more Republicans at all levels. “Even in a traditionally Democratic county, our number of voters are increasing and more people want conservative ideas,” Arango concluded.
