Hudson County Republican Women’s Federation Founded
Jersey City, April 13 – Hudson County Republican Women’s Federation was founded this past Saturday in the Miss America Diner in the Greenville neighborhood of Jersey City. Community leaders gathered to organize the Hudson County Republican Women’s Federation led by Kamei Harris. The community leaders included women from the county with a diverse background of experiences rich in organizing events, outreach, fundraising, citizen advocacy, and electioneering. Founding Chairwoman Harris, a lifelong resident of the Marion Garden’s section of Jersey City, talked about the dual needs to show fellow residents differing points of view and for all in the GOP tent to work together to show Hudson County women and others than one “does not need to be a Democrat just because your parents were.”
Chairwoman Harris continued “if we can get people thinking outside of the big government box, the people win. For example, many people can’t hear President Trump’s message of economic growth over the cat calls by the Democrats, but the reality is that the policies he has enacted are helping women and men, the black community and all Americans; and when they listen to someone who is bringing the message to the public like Candace Owen, they see it.”
The meeting, held over breakfast, went for over an hour and a half. Augusta Przygoda, a longtime Hoboken resident, stated “I was impressed by the women Kamei invited to this first meeting. They were upbeat and positive and knowledgeable and energetic.” Przygoda, a community leader and Hoboken Municipal Republican Committeewoman, continued that “they had an understanding of the local, county, state and national scene. Kamei’s enthusiasm is contagious.”
Joshua Sotomayor Einstein, NJ GOP State Committeeman representing Hudson County to the State Republican Party, was one of the few men in attendance. “It was great to meet many community leaders such as Chairwoman Kamei Harris and others from so many different neighborhoods and backgrounds who are all united for the GOP.” He continued that at the meeting the community leaders “did the important work of discussing and strategizing on how we make Hudson County a better place and spread commonsense smaller government ideas.”
