Hudson County Will Open Additional Vaccine Appointments for Eligible Residents on Monday

JERSEY CITY, N.J. — Hudson County will be opening its vaccine scheduling system at 11 a.m. on Monday for appointments at the USS Juneau Center. The first wave will include 400 appointment slots for Wednesday, April 14th. The county-run site in Kearny anticipates providing roughly 2,270 first doses and a combined total of approximately 4,400 doses this week. In total, 12,850 doses are being directed to the County and its municipal partners this week by state and federal officials that will be distributed at both the USS Juneau Center and at municipal vaccination sites throughout the county.

Eligible Hudson County residents are encouraged to complete the pre-registration process online by visiting hudsoncovidvax.org.

Last week, Hudson County received its largest vaccine allocation to date. A record 5,266 residents were vaccinated at the county-run site alone with an additional 15,000+ individuals receiving their vaccines at municipal-run clinics. Hudson County remains committed to an equitable vaccine distribution process until every resident has the opportunity to receive this lifesaving vaccine.

Those currently eligible to be vaccinated according to the state’s guidelines include: healthcare personnel, long term care residents and staff, first responders, anyone 55+, individuals ages 16-54 with underlying health conditions, educators, childcare workers, transportation workers, public safety workers, migrant farm workers, members of tribal communities, those experiencing homelessness, clergy, communications workers, IT professionals, members of the media, election personnel, hospitality workers, retail finance employees, real estate workers, shipping service workers, social service employees, utilities workers, warehouse workers and more. Anyone over the age of 16 will become eligible beginning April 19. A full eligibility list can be found here. 

About the Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center: The Hudson County Vaccine Distribution Center is operated by Hudson Regional Health Commission and overseen by County Executive Tom DeGise’s Vaccine Task Force, which includes representatives from the Hudson County Improvement Authority, the Hudson County Office of Emergency Management, County Department of Roads and Public Property, the Hudson County Schools of Technology and the Hudson County Sheriff’s Office. The center is located at the USS Juneau Center at 110 Hackensack in Kearny.
