Hunterdon County Polytech Adds Second Open House Dec. 3

High School Offers Virtual and In-Person Options Ahead of Dec. 18 Application Deadline

Flemington, N.J. –Hunterdon County Polytech Career & Technical High School has planned a second Open House on Thursday, Dec. 3, between 6 and 8 p.m. This addition to the school’s calendar gives prospective students and their families another opportunity to learn about Polytech’s range of programs and includes the option to tour customized classrooms. Unlike the first Open House in October, held exclusively online, the Dec. 3 Open House offers both virtual and in-person options.

Polytech launched an interactive Google Site to host its first Open House, and those web pages remain live for interested students and parents to visit and learn more about the school on their own time. The pages also will host links for live virtual meetings over Zoom with program instructors, school counselors and admissions personnel on Dec. 3 in the 6 to 8 p.m. timeframe of the Open House. Access that Google Site directly by visiting https://sites.google.com/hcvsd.org/polytech-open-house/home.

In addition to this all-virtual option, Polytech will welcome attendees for an in-person Open House on Dec. 3; pre-registration is required. The school will limit the number of participants to enable social distancing and will require everyone to wear masks. Those interested can pre-register using a link that pops up with an announcement about the Open House when you visit polytech.hcvsd.org. Also find the link on both polytech.hcvsd.org and hcvsd.org when you click “Polytech Open House” in the list of “Upcoming Events” on the right side of these homepages.

Families who register early have first pick of times and can schedule up to six different program sessions, each lasting 20 minutes. Families must register each participant and complete a COVID-19 survey for all members in their party prior to Dec. 3. The school will send the survey to the email address used for registration.

“With our application deadline of December 18 quickly approaching, we wanted to provide one more opportunity for prospective students, especially tenth and eleventh grade students, to gain an overview of our shared-time programming options and begin to determine the program that may best fit their interests and support their college and career goals,” said Tanya Nalesnik, director of grant management, admissions & security for Hunterdon County Vocational School District. “The added option for in-person sessions is ideal for students who want to get an even better feel for our customized learning spaces and our campuses.”

The in-person Open House will run on all three campuses that house Polytech programs:
