Hunterdon Republicans Choose Raritan Township’s Jeff Kuhl For County Commissioner Vacancy
Hunterdon County Republican Chairman Gabe Plumer has announced that the Hunterdon County Committee has unanimously selected Raritan Township Committee member Jeff Kuhl to fill the County Commissioner Board vacancy that resulted from the retirement of former Commissioner Matt Holt.
Plumer stated, “The Republican Committee and the people of Hunterdon County are fortunate to have an individual with Jeff Kuhl’s business and government experience to step forward to accept the responsibilities of serving on the County Board of Commissioners.”
Commissioner-designate Kuhl was selected to both fill the vacancy and to be the Republican nominee for election to the unexpired term in November. He will join Commissioner Board Director John E. Lanza and Deputy Director Zachary T. Rich as Republican candidates for the County Board.
Mr. Kuhl, who served as Raritan’s Mayor twice and is in his second term on the Township Committee, said, “It is humbling to selected. I look forward to joining a very dedicated team at the Commissioner Board who share my conservative fiscal philosophy. I believe I can put forward to the Board a fresh perspective from my recent local service.”
Board Director Lanza said, “Jeff Kuhl brings so much significant experience from his public service of twenty five years in Raritan Township – on the Township Committee, the Planning Board, the Economic Development Advisory Committee, and so many other local Boards and Commissions, that we know he will hit the ground running at the Commissioner Board.”
Mr. Kuhl, a lifelong Raritan Township resident, is the Chief Operating Officer of Kuhl Corporation, with an extensive background in mechanical machine design. He and his wife, Darlene, have two children.
