Senate Republican Leader Anthony M. Bucco (R-25) appeared on News12’s Power and Politics to challenge Governor Murphy’s misleading claim that New Jersey is “stronger, fairer, and more prepared to face the future,” as the governor prepares for his State of the State address.
During the interview, Senator Bucco highlighted New Jersey’s growing affordability crisis, the looming fiscal cliff, and the troubling rise of homelessness across the state.

Senator Bucco also published an op-ed cautioning New Jerseyans to approach the governor’s address with skepticism. Titled, “What’s the real message of Phil Murphy’s State of the State? Buyer beware,” Senator Bucco warns that Governor Murphy’s portrayal of the Garden State does not accurately reflect the harsh realities that many families currently face.
“Make no mistake about it, we are Jersey Strong but living in New Jersey is far from the picture that Murphy will paint during his address,” wrote Senator Bucco.
