Milltown — Tim Rudolph, President of Local 195 of the International Federation of Professional & Technical Engineers, released the following statement today endorsing Senate President Steve Sweeney for re-election to the New Jersey Senate:

“Senate President Steve Sweeney has amassed a record of pro-labor accomplishments during his tenure in public office. Steve has never forgotten that he is, first and foremost, a leader in the organized labor movement in our country.

“Steve is also one of the few people in Trenton who knows what it is like to struggle to make ends meet, and he is someone who puts the interests of working men and women and taxpayers first. He is leader who knows how to bring people together to create progress.

“Senator Sweeney was also instrumental in crafting and ultimately securing the passage of legislation requiring quarterly pension payments – a measure that will both ensure maximum investment returns and save money for taxpayers.

“There has never been a more crucial time to elect pro-labor representatives in Trenton. The men and women of Local 195 stand firmly behind Senate President Sweeney – one of our own – and we are proud to issue him our full and complete endorsement.”
