INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS – LOCAL 351 ENDORSES HARRISON IN FOR NJ-02 CONGRESSIONAL RACE
The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 351, which represents over 2000 union members in the second congressional district, voted formally endorse Brigid Callahan Harrison in New Jersey’s second congressional district.
The following is a statement by Dan Cosner, Business Administrator for IBEW Local 351:
“IBEW Local 351 believes in supporting candidates who support the prosperity and security of our members and advocate for collective bargaining, and we are proud to announce that we have found our candidate with Brigid Harrison.
“The 2020 race of New Jersey’s 2nd Congressional District is the most important in the nation. We all must realize that this election year is unlike any other – and each of us to do our part now, there is no time to wait.
“We must support a candidate who will have the backs of working men and women throughout the district, is a strong communicator, understands the challenges faced by organized labor. Brigid is the only candidate ready to take on the totality of this fight.
“Brigid is a lifelong member of our community and a longtime union member and we are confident that as Congresswoman, Brigid will work to protect the right to collectively bargain, enforce laws to make job sites safer, deliver support for apprenticeship and journey-level training and fight for improved wages, hours and working conditions. We are proud to endorse our union sister, Brigid Callahan Harrison for Congress to represent New Jersey’s second congressional District.”
