INTERNATIONAL UNION OF BRICKLAYERS & ALLIED CRAFTWORKERS LOCAL #4 & #5 ENDORSE BRIGID HARRISON FOR NJ-02 CONGRESSIONAL RACE
(Northfield, New Jersey – January 20, 2020) — The International Union of Bricklayers & Allied Craftworkers Local #4 & #5 (BACNJ) announced today that they formally endorse Brigid Harrison in New Jersey’s second congressional district.
The following is a statement by Richard Tolson, Director of BAC Administrative District Council of NJ:
“On behalf of the 3800 members of the International Union of Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers that I am honored to represent in New Jersey, we stand with our brothers and sisters in the Building Trades in endorsing Brigid Harrison for Congress.
“Having been betrayed by the incumbent, it is imperative that the Democratic party unite to win back a seat we legitimately won in the first place. Brigid Harrison is a Union member. She has pledged her support to the issues that effect our members and their families. From protecting prevailing wage laws, making sure OSHA is properly funded and staffed so work sites are safe, to addressing the exploitation of workers in the construction industry, sister Harrison will work to ensure that construction workers rights are protected and the dignity of workers is maintained. For these reasons, and in solidarity with our Building Trades brothers and sisters, we will work through the primary and general election for Harrison for Congress!
