IPMA-HR NJ Elects 2021-2022 Executive Team

International Public Management Association for Human Resources (IPMA-HR) NJ hosted their annual reorganization meeting. IPMA-HR NJ is a professional organization of public-sector Human Resources professionals that live and work throughout the State of New Jersey. We are the Garden State’s chapter of an international organization dedicated to advancing the public sector Human Resource profession.

Anthony Gatto was elected President of the Chapter. Mr. Gatto is now serving his third term as President, having previously served in 2015-2016 and again in 2020-2021. A career Civil Servant, Mr. Gatto is currently Manager of Talent Acquisition, Onboarding, and Analytics with the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety. He previously served as an Administrative Analyst Supervisor and Senior Advisor to the Chief of Staff with the New Jersey Office of Information Technology, and prior to that was a Human Resource Consultant with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission. Mr. Gatto is a proud graduate of Rutgers University and also attained Certified Public Manager (CPM) certification through Rutgers.

“I am pleased with the continuity and accomplishments of our IPMA-HR New Jersey Chapter Executive Board, and I look forward to continue working with fellow members on issues as we return to the workforce Post-Covid,” said Gatto. “I thank the executive team for an outstanding job this past year and I look forward to continuing our partnership in the days to come.”

Joe Forte was voted President-Elect. Mr. Forte is employed with the New Jersey Civil Service Commission in the Office of Diversity Programs. In his position with CSC, he develops and delivers outreach initiatives to increase diversity within the state government by hosting regional job fairs and speaking with hundreds of community organizations, high schools and college students each year. Prior to this assignment, he served as a Confidential Assistant to the Chair/CEO. Mr. Forte holds a Master of Public Administration and a certificate in Strategic Communications, both from Rutgers University. In addition, he has a Master of Science degree from Northeastern University in Global Studies and International Affairs, and he has a certificate in Diversity and Inclusion from Cornell University. IPMA-HR’s “3 P” model, Mr. Forte will serve alongside Steve Wilkins and Anthony Gatto this program year and assume the presidency next program year in 2022.

This past program year, IPMA-HR NJ hosted three virtual programs: A holiday social, a program on Human Resource Analytics, and a program on the legal implications of COVID vaccinations and cannabis. Our next initiative will be planning a virtual one-day conference in the Fall.
