IUOE 825 Infrastructure Statements

Please find statements below on this evenings passage of the Bipartisan Infrastructure Bill (BIF):

Statement from Greg Lalevee, Business Manager of IUOE Local 825:

“We applaud our elected officials for passing hundreds of billions of dollars in sorely-needed infrastructure funding, which will create good-paying jobs, catalyze economic growth, and create 21st century transportation, energy, and water systems that we desperately need. Our members work on all of these systems and know firsthand just how important it is to embark on a decades-overdue overhaul of our nation’s infrastructure. This package will begin to address that backlog while providing the kinds of stable, good jobs that Americans need in the wake of the pandemic. We can’t wait to get to work.”

Statement from Mark Longo, Director of ELEC 825:

“Today’s long-awaited passage of the bipartisan infrastructure bill is a huge step forward for the nation’s roads, bridges, rails, and other crucial infrastructure systems. As we rebuild our economy in the wake of the pandemic, infrastructure spending is a critical component in realizing economic growth – encouraging commerce, making our communities a safer place to live, and incentivizing further private investment throughout the economy. We applaud policymakers on both sides of the aisle for crafting this essential legislation and look forward to continue playing a crucial role in our recovery.”
