Jackson GOP echoes Jackson Town Council calls on Governor Murphy to enforce CoVid-19 rules, focus on Health and Welfare and not State Park closures

In the face of a Global Pandemic, President Trump and The Coronavirus Task Force have laid out a roadmap to guide the Nation through these trying times. Yet in the face of hotspots around NJ, one right here in Ocean County, the Governor has refused to enforce the mitigation strategies made by President Trump’s Coronavirus Task Force and that he paid lip service to declaring in NJ. Governor Murphy has, on the surface, implemented many of the same policies and decrees with little enforcement, however, he has gone even further to infringe on our rights by focusing on the closure of State Parks.

Governor Murphy has put his need to pander for votes above the health and welfare of NJ residents by ignoring repeated large gatherings that – according to every scientist studying this Pandemic – will lead to rampant spread of this disease. Now is the time that Governor Murphy should be proactively attempting to quell these gatherings, not using valuable resources to keep a handful of people out of thousands of acres of open space where residents can more than adequately social distance.

We call on the Governor to use the State’s resources to enforce the Federal Guidelines for the Coronavirus in those hotspots around the State. Following the science, not eliminating freedom, is a necessity for the Health and Welfare of all New Jerseyans.
