Jasey Lends Her Support to Speaker Prieto’s Efforts to Pass the FY 2018 Budget

(TRENTON) – Assemblywoman Mila Jasey (D-Essex/Morris) lent her support Thursday to Speaker Vincent Prieto and his efforts to pass the FY 2018 budget as the deadline looms near.

“There appears to be a callous disregard for the lives that will be impacted if this budget is not passed in time.  As Democrats, we need to come together and focus on our most pressing priority right now – passing a state budget that protects critical priorities.

“When it comes to the proposed Horizon legislation, you have to question why it’s so important to rush a bill of this magnitude.  Something that has the potential to affect the health and well-being of nearly half of all New Jerseyans should not be pushed through in less than a week when one house hasn’t even seen the legislation.”
