JCFD’s newest members to be Sworn in Friday

JCFD’s newest members to be Sworn in Friday to Enhance the Department’s Elite Roster, Helping Provide Residents with Quality and Timely Emergency Response in Instances where every Second Counts

 

 

WHAT:          Mayor Steven M. Fulop and Public Safety Director James Shea will swear in 13 of the Jersey City Fire Department’s newest members at a ceremony this Friday.  The recruits will be assigned to their firehouses after 5 months of training, including a 3-month EMT certification course.  The newly sworn members will bring the department total to 599 uniformed firefighters and superiors.  Since 2013, over 200 firefighters have been hired under Mayor Fulop.
