Jeff Beyer and Freeholder Director Shanel Robinson Host Webinar for Bedminster Residents and Small Businesses
On April 30, 2020, Jeff Beyer, the Democratic candidate for Bedminster Township Committee, hosted a webinar with current Somerset County Freeholder Director Shanel Robinson, and local Bedminster residents to discuss questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Robinson, the former Deputy Mayor of Franklin Township, is an IT management professional within Saint Peter’s Healthcare System. Throughout the webinar, Robinson answered constituents’ wide-ranging questions from mobile testing sites, mental health resources, and senior citizen safety to relief for businesses, education, and parks.
During the webinar, Robinson also discussed how Somerset County formed a task force, led by Freeholder Deputy Director Sara Sooy, to plan for an economic recovery a week before the State’s task force stating, “We can’t wait to get ready. We have to be ready.”
Beyer, a Bedminster community leader and small business owner, moderated the webinar, where he fielded questions from over twenty-five residents. The candidate is looking forward to posting more webinars with elected officials in the future to provide residents with reliable and up-to-date information on local, county, and state resources directly from elected officials.
Beyer stated in the discussion, “Bedminster residents need information, support, and guidance through difficult times. I am confident that we all can get through this.” Beyer, who has already received the endorsement of the Bedminster Township Democratic Committee, would be the only Democrat serving on the Bedminster Township committee if elected.
