Jersey City to Host 17th Annual “Reflections” 9/11 Ceremony at the Waterfront Memorial in Remembrance of Lives Lost
WHAT: Jersey City dignitaries will host the annual 17th “Reflections” ceremony at the city’s 9/11 memorial located on the Hudson River waterfront with a backdrop of the World Trade Center. The memorial consists of twisted steel beams brought across the river from Ground Zero. On the day of the attacks in 2001, the area where the memorial now stands became a triage center where Jersey City emergency responders sprang into action, helping those who sought refuge in Jersey City. The names of the Jersey City residents who lost their lives during the terrorist attacks are also located on part of the memorial.
