Group seeks to address voting challenges related to COVID-19.

TRENTON, NJ – The Jersey for Joe team, led by Rob Garrison, Marilyn Davis, Michael DuPont and Guillermo Artiles, has partnered with former New Jersey State Bar President John Keefe, Jr. to launch Jersey Lawyers for Joe. The group is still in formation and plans to build out a county-by-county cohort that will ensure all protections are in place for a potentially historic vote-by-mail election in the fall.

The list of influential lawyers includes the former U.S. Attorney of New Jersey, eight former N.J. State Bar presidents and several presidents of affinity bars including the Hispanic Bar Association, Garden State Bar, Muslim Lawyers Association, National Lesbian and Gay Law Association, Asian Pacific American Lawyer’s Association and includes a cross-section of broad support, from every region of the State and all practices of the Bar, reflective of N.J. voters and practitioners.

“Together, we are a group of diverse lawyers from all corners of the Bar, motivated to support Vice President Biden in his run to become the next President of the United States—and restore the rule of law,” said co-chair John Keefe. Beyond voter protection and election administration, the group will be dedicated to fundraising and other policy initiatives driven by the national Lawyers for Biden team, including vetting, corporate due diligence, and legal research.
