Jim Johnson for Governor Debuts Second TV Ad
Entitled “Fight,” ad highlights Johnson’s commitment to getting big money out of politics, expanding Pre-K for all, taking on prescription drug giants, and lowering property taxes
NEWARK, N.J. —Today, New Jersey Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jim Johnson released his second TV advertisement entitled “Fight.” The thirty-second ad highlights Johnson’s plans to fight for all New Jerseyans by implementing universal pre-K, getting big money out of politics, challenging pharmaceutical companies that recklessly raise drug prices, and ending corporate welfare to reduce New Jersey’s skyrocketing property taxes.
“For far too long, leaders in Trenton and the political machine have failed to put the needs of the people first. Whether we are talking about sky-high property taxes or the influx of big money in our democratic process — our state government hasn’t prioritized improving the lives of working families,” said Johnson. “Throughout my life, I have challenged the powerful on behalf of the people — and won. As Governor, I will continue my long-standing fight for justice and opportunity for all and put the needs of the people, not the powerful, first.”
Johnson, a former federal prosecutor, Under Secretary of the U.S. Treasury, and chair of the Brennan Center for Justice, is the first and currently only Democrat in the primary to qualify for and receive public matching funds, and has also called for a spending cap in the New Jersey primary. This is his second television ad. The first, entitled “Discipline,” can be found here.
