John Burzichelli Statement on Ørsted Withdrawing from Offshore Wind Project

The stakes couldn’t be higher as South Jersey has deeply suffered with the loss of real leadership and struggled with the ineffectiveness of Senator Durr and his complete lack of competence.

Just yesterday, he celebrated an offshore wind developer reneging on their obligations as we are on the verge of attracting significant new industry and setting up a manufacturing hub of wind components for the Eastern seaboard.

This is not a partisan issue. It is about economic growth and job creation right here in South Jersey. Senator Durr’s thought that gridlock is good proves he is in over his head, has learned nothing in two years, and is not up for the job.

It took real leadership to bring this once-in-a-generation opportunity forward for our region. It will take real leadership to see it through. Now more than ever, we need serious people to fight for South Jersey, and our community deserves real representation.
