John McCann’s comments on the government shutdown

John McCann’s comments on the government shutdown:
It is irresponsible for the democrats to put the citizens of the United States in danger because of their inability to cross party lines. By shutting down the government, our representatives have demoralized our military and jeopardized national security at a time when we are in the midst of a war on terror. Although the military remains active, their families at home are uncertain about whether their next paycheck will be coming.
Hard-working people throughout the country are out of work. How can these people afford to feed their families or pay their rent if they do not receive their next paycheck? Our representatives, who cannot come to an agreement, will not have that problem as they will continue to get paid.
Our first priority must be the citizens of this country. The democrats are putting the interest of 800,000 people who are in the United States illegally over the hardworking people who work hard and play by the rules.
It is time for our representatives to stop worrying about their next election and begin actually working for their constituents, their safety and their ability to take care of their families.
