Joint statement from Jewish Federations of New Jersey (JFNJ), American Jewish Committee (AJC), Stand With Us, Anti-Defamation League (ADL), and Agudath Israel of America – New Jersey Office regarding the Senate State Government, Wagering, Tourism and Historic Preservation Committee’s passage of S1292 and S2937:

“We are grateful to Senator Beach, Assemblyman Schaer and all the sponsors of S1292 and S2937 for their commitment to having these important bills heard.

“After two days of testimony from various residents and advocacy groups, it is more evident than ever that it is vital for the state to officially adopt the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism. This legislation is paramount in raising awareness and providing protections for New Jersey residents following a disturbingly rapid rise in antisemitism and hate crimes across our state. We look forward to working together in continuing to support these bills as they move through the legislative process.”
