Kean Jr. Touts Endorsement from Extremist Enabler Kevin McCarthy

Tom Kean Jr. is having a rough go of it. His campaign launch was criticized by allies for featuring extremist-enabler GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy. Kean was so proud to appear with McCarthy, he refused to let press cover the event. But now, he’s taking McCarthy’s endorsement.

“McCarthy’s visit just might strengthen Kean’s appeal to the party’s pro-Trump base. But it’s bound to alienate everyone else.”

A refresher on Kevin McCarthy, who boasted of Tom Kean, “I’m here for this guy.”

• McCarthy is leading a caucus that just this morning was highlighted as using antisemitism for their own political power.

• McCarthy has attempted to block bipartisan investigations into the violent storming of the Capitol as he spread lies about former President Trump winning the election.

• He’s staked his career on repealing pre-existing condition protections in the Affordable Care Act.

• He led his caucus in unanimous opposition to the American Rescue Plan which provided stimulus checks, small business aid, and vital education funding to New Jersey. New Jersey has seen six consecutive months of job growth — including 33,800 new jobs over the last two months.

• And McCarthy is currently working to block bipartisan infrastructure funding that would fund crucial projects in New Jersey like the Gateway Tunnel.

The first thing McCarthy did after campaigning with Kean? Go to Bedminster to kiss Trump’s ring.
