Congressman Andy Kim Receives Endorsement from NASW-PACE in His Race for the U.S. Senate

MOORESTOWN N.J. – Today, Congressman Andy Kim announced the endorsement of the National Association of Social Workers Political Action for Candidate Election (NASW-PACE) in his bid for the U.S. Senate. Representing over 6,500 social workers in New Jersey and over 100,000 members across the country, NASW-PACE is spearheading the fight against our country’s mental health crisis and providing support for New Jersey’s most vulnerable residents.

“From day one, this campaign has been about the people of New Jersey, and this endorsement means so much because our state’s social workers dedicate their lives to be the caretakers of our most vulnerable residents,” said Congressman Andy Kim. “The stories I have heard across the state this year are both heartbreaking and inspiring, and together with NASW-PACE, I will work to make sure those workers and communities have the support needed to ensure that everyone has the resources and care they deserve.”

“NASW-PACE is proud to endorse Rep. Andy Kim for U.S. Senate,” said NASW-PACE Treasurer and New Jersey native, Dr. La’Tesha Sampson Ph.D., DSW, LCSW, ACSW, MPA. “Representative Kim’s history and family inform his approach to problem-solving and are at the heart of his dedication to supporting his community. Rep. Kim earned the endorsement from the nation’s leading organization of social work professionals by keeping people at the center of his career. From protecting a woman’s right to make her own healthcare decisions, to protecting and defending the lives and rights of members of the LGBTQ+ community, to ensuring all families have the resources they need to be healthy and thrive. Rep. Kim embodies the type of leader NASW-PACE is excited to see in the U.S. Senate.”

During his time in Congress, Andy has focused on improving the lives of New Jersey families by addressing mental health needs, passing legislation to protect the rights of the most vulnerable, and securing resources for his district. In Congress, he supported efforts to expand and diversify the mental health workforce and increase treatment for substance use disorder. He also helped pass legislation like the Women’s Health Protection Act to protect women across this country in the wake of the 2022 Dobbs Decision and the Equality Act, which protected LGBTQ+ Americans in states that did not have statewide protections. Andy also secured a one-million dollar grant for a youth mental health facility in Burlington County.

As a son of immigrants and a graduate from New Jersey public schools, Congressman Andy Kim has been proud to represent his home community in Congress. Andy is a young father of two little boys and represents a new generation of leadership stepping up to fix our broken politics. As a former national security official, Andy previously advised President Obama on counterterrorism and worked for four-star generals in Afghanistan.

Andy went on to win a congressional district that Trump won twice by defeating three consecutive self-funding republican millionaires. In his three terms in Congress, Andy has worked hard to lower costs for New Jersey families, help support small businesses through challenging times, and has battled House Republicans in the fight to restore protections for women in the aftermath of the 2022 Dobbs decision. Andy is now stepping up to run for senate to fight against corruption and restore integrity to public service.
