Labor Candidate Carney elected to Sussex Commissioners, replacing Hertzberg

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO congratulates our Brother Christopher Carney, who was elected at a special convention to fill an open seat on the Sussex County Board of Commissioners.

Brother Carney, a proud member of IUOE 825, replaces Brother Joshua Hertzberg, a proud member of ILA 1084-1, who left the commissioners – formerly known as freeholders – on January 1 to take his newly elected seat on the Sparta Township Committee.

Brothers Carney and Hertzberg are graduates of the nationally acclaimed New Jersey State AFL-CIO Labor Candidates School, which since 1997 has tallied 1,135 Labor Candidate victories. The New Jersey State AFL-CIO and Northwest Jersey Central Labor Council supported their victorious campaigns.

The New Jersey State AFL-CIO wishes our union brothers success as they serve the working families in Sussex County and in Sparta, and offers our continuing support to Brother Carney, the newest Sussex County commissioner.
