Montclair, NJ — Lacordaire Academy, a 100-year old independent school sponsored by the Dominican Sisters of Caldwell, announced the creation of the Joan B. Hearst Scholarship. This new $4,000 annual scholarship would go to an incoming freshman who is generous of spirit and who lives Lacordaire Academy’s mission statement.

The Joan B. Hearst Scholarship joins the longstanding Veronica E. James Scholarship in providing an incoming freshman from Northern NJ the opportunity to attend Lacordaire Academy and benefit from its rigorous educational program. For over 10 years, Joan Hearst served as Lacordaire’s Director of Admissions and contributed to its being consistently rated as the top independent school in Essex County.
