Lance Continues to Lead on Countering Russian Aggression and Interference in U.S. Elections
WASHINGTON, DC – Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) today became the first member of the New Jersey congressional delegation to cosponsor H.R. 6437, the bipartisanSecure America from Russian Interference Act of 2018. The package of legislation includes a bill co-authored by Lance, H.R. 5216, the Directing Implementation of Sanctions and Accountability for Russian Mischief (DISARM) Act.
“I support the unanimous conclusion of America’s intelligence community that Russia hacked the 2016 U.S. presidential election. This is not a partisan issue and that’s why I have cosponsored this bipartisan package to bolster American Security and strengthen our NATO alliance,” said Lance. “In addition to this legislation, I have voted for $380 million in added funds to enhance election security. I will continue to work across the aisle to thwart any foreign government’s attempt to influence our elections and our democratic institutions.”
Lance has been a leader in Congress on countering Russian aggression and interference in U.S. elections. NBC News recently called Lance, “…one of the first Republicans to team up with Democrats to sanction Russia for election meddling.” Visithttps://lance.house.gov/issues/holding-russia-accountable to learn more about Lance’s efforts.
