Lance Statement on Santa Fe, TX Shooting

WASHINGTON,D.C. —Congressman Leonard Lance (NJ-07) issued the following statement:

“I am filled with grief over the devastating loss of life at Santa Fe High School in Texas.  New Jersey and the Nation mourn the victims and grieve with students, faculty and the entire Santa Fe community.  Congress must redouble its efforts to pass common-sense solutions to address gun violence.  Legislation I support to require background checks for all gun purchases, to strengthen school security, to ban dangerous bump stocks and to prevent violent and dangerous individuals from purchasing weapons continues to languish in both the House and Senate.  It’s time Congress end the gridlock and enact these bills to make schools safer and keep deadly weapons away from those who wish to do us harm.”
