Land Praises SCOTUS Decision to Legalize Sports Gaming

(VINELAND) – Assembly Tourism, Gaming and the Arts Committee Vice-Chairman Bruce Land (D-Cape May/Atlantic/Cumberland) issued the following statement in response to the U.S. Supreme Court’s ruling stating that New Jersey can implement legalized sports gaming:

“I couldn’t be happier with the Supreme Court’s historic decision to legalize sports gaming.

“We in New Jersey felt like this ruling was a long time coming, but we are grateful that the day is finally here.

“New Jersey and gaming have historically gone hand-in-hand, and we will now work towards making New Jersey the country’s capital of legalized sports gaming.

“I am excited to work with my colleagues in the legislature and the governor’s office to bring more jobs and revenue to the people of our great state, and to weed out illegal sports gaming.

“This will allow us to add crucial revenue for our state’s budget, so our citizens can utilize vital programs and services that they doubtlessly have merited.

“This is good for our economy; this is good for our freedom; simply put, this is good for New Jersey.”
