Latina Civic PAC Announces Endorsement of Latina Leaders: Annette Quijano, Alixon Collazos-Gill, and Cindelle Harris-Blackmon 

Trenton – June 1, 2023 –  New Jersey’s leading organization in increasing Latina representation in government and politics, Latina Civic Political Action Committee (“Latina Civic PAC”) proudly announces the endorsement of the following candidates:

  • Annette Quijano – Assemblywoman, New Jersey’s 20th Legislative District
  • Alixon Collazos-Gill – Assemblywoman, New Jersey’s 27th Legislative District
  • Cindelle Harris-Blackmon – Councilwoman, City of Plainfield, NJ

 

Latina Civic PAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected and appointed offices in the State of New Jersey. The organization promotes and supports progressive leaders who stand up for an agenda that invests in Latina political leadership and advances critical issues that matter to Latinas in New Jersey.

“We place the utmost importance on supporting Latinas who have already proven themselves as leaders in their communities as well as in public office,” stated Laura Matos, chair of Latina Civic PAC. “The Latina leaders we endorse today have selflessly dedicated themselves to our communities here in New Jersey.”

Assemblywoman Annette Quijano is an incumbent who has a record as a champion for women’s issues and an ongoing commitment to the Latino community.

Alixon Collazos-Gill has focused her career on defending women’s rights and engaging in political campaigns within the statewide Latino community, has spearheaded voter registration campaigns, and worked as a campaign operative at both the local and state levels. Cindelle Harris-Blackmon, a progressive Afro-Latina, has dedicated herself to promoting political awareness and civic participation within her community at large.

“New Jersey’s primary elections next week will determine the future of our state. We encourage voters to consider these three Latina changemakers, Collazos-Gill, Harris-Blackmon, and Quijano,” said Noemi Velazquez, chair of the endorsement committee for Latina Civic PAC.

Latina Civic PAC is committed to helping Latinas engage in the political process and helping them run for public office while raising early money so they can become viable contenders.
