Latina Civic PAC Announces Endorsement of Montclair Council Candidate

Trenton, NJ – April 30, 2024 – New Jersey’s leading statewide Latina organization seeking to increase Latina representation in government and politics, Latina Civic Political Action Committee (“Latina Civic PAC”), proudly announces the endorsement of Wendy A. Tiburcio for Montclair Township Council – Third Ward. 

“Wendy possesses the tenacity, passion and commitment to her community that we at Latina Civic PAC encourage,” stated Noemi Velazquez, chair of the Latina Civic PAC Endorsement Committee. “These characteristics combined will make her a sound public servant for all Montclair residents.”

Wendy A. Tiburcio, who is originally from the Dominican Republic and is fluent in both English and Spanish, has been a resident of Montclair for 12 1/2 years and graduated from Montclair State University where she studied Communications and Journalism. She embodies what the Council needs in terms of ethnic diversity, having varied career backgrounds, and the skills to bring creativity into problem-solving. Wendy is a digital creator who has more than 20 years of experience in communications and marketing building connected, unified experiences for established, global organizations, which she can bring to her community. If elected, Wendy would be the first Latina to serve on the Montclair Council.

“I started this journey because I have a deep desire to serve as a compassionate, collaborative voice for our residents and to contribute to having more diverse views represented,” explained Montclair Council candidate Wendy A. Tiburcio. “Vecinos—es tiempo para Una Nueva Perspectiva!”

Tiburcio’s commitment to giving back to the community, empowering others, and youth education is evident in her involvement with several non-profit organizations over the years like Latinos of Montclair where she has been an active volunteer and member helping to encourage civic engagement and celebrating cultural diversity.
