Latina Civic PAC Announces Endorsements

Trenton, NJ – October 30, 2023 – New Jersey’s leading statewide Latina organization that seeks to increase Latina representation in government and politics, Latina Civic Political Action Committee (“Latina Civic PAC”), proudly announces the endorsement of the following candidates:

  • Noemi Velazquez – Assemblywoman, New Jersey’s 31st Legislative District
  • Rosaura Bagolie- Assemblywoman, New Jersey’s 27th Legislative District
  • Amalia Duarte – Mendham Township Committeewoman

Latina Civic PAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected and appointed offices in the State of New Jersey. The organization promotes and supports progressive leaders who stand up for an agenda that invests in Latina political leadership and advances critical issues that matter to Latinas in New Jersey.

“These women each exemplify Latina Civic PAC’s mission to improve and build a better community for Latinas and their families,” stated Laura Matos, chair of Latina Civic PAC. “We are thrilled to endorse these candidates and are confident in their ability to serve, working for the best interest of our Latino communities throughout New Jersey.”

Noemi Velazquez was elected in 2019 to the Jersey City Board of Education and is currently the Vice President. She is also a founding member of Latina Civic and a current board member of Latina Civic PAC.

Rosaura Bagolie is currently a Councilwoman in Livingston and was the first Latina-Jewish woman to serve on the council and the first woman to serve since 2014.

Amalia Duarte, chair of the Morris County Democratic Committee, is currently a Committeewoman in the Township of Mendham and running for reelection.

Latina Civic PAC is committed to helping Latinas engage in the political process and helping them run for public office while raising early money so they can become viable contenders.

Latina Civic PAC is a non-partisan political action committee whose specific mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected office in the State of New Jersey and to advocate for issues that impact Latinas in New Jersey. All contributions to Latina Civic PAC are not tax deductible.
