Latina Civic PAC Recommends Ras Baraka for Re-election as Mayor of Newark

New Jersey, April 21, 2022: The Latina Civic PAC proudly announces the recommendation of Ras Baraka for re-election as mayor of Newark in the May 10 New Jersey non-partisan elections.

“Mayor Baraka has continued to lead the City of Newark within a framework of inclusion. In a city with a highly diverse population and a large percentage of Latinos in particular, the Mayor has sought to provide culturally and linguistically sensitive services to each community. He therefore has earned our continued support and we enthusiastically recommend his re-election,” stated Noemi Velazquez, chair of the Latina Civic PAC Endorsement Committee, who met and interviewed the mayor. “We have concluded that Ras Baraka is once again the right candidate to continue the economic growth, prosperity and inclusion that Newark residents rightly deserve,” stated Endorsement Committee Board Member Lucia Gomez.

“Latina Civic PAC is a statewide non-partisan political action committee whose mission is to increase the number of Latinas in elected and appointed office in the State of New Jersey. We also support progressive political leaders who stand up for an agenda that invests in Latina women political leadership,” affirmed Laura Matos, president of Latina Civic PAC.
