Latino Action Network calls for Bergen Sheriff’s resignation

NEWARK-The Latino Action Network (LAN) is calling for the resignation of Bergen County Sheriff Michael Saudino after remarks he made denigrating African Americans and the New Jersey state attorney general, who is a Sikh American.

“Saudino has disgraced his office with such hateful language. This is appalling,” said LAN President Christian Estevez. “One of New Jersey’s strengths as a state is its diversity.”

LAN is a broad, statewide coalition of Latino organizations dedicated to political empowerment, the promotion of civil rights, and the elimination of disparities in the areas of education, health, and employment. It was founded in 2009.
