THE LATINO-AMERICAN DEMOCRATIC ASSOCIATION ENDORSES SCHWARTZ, ORGEN, AND PAGAN FOR TEANECK TOWNSHIP COUNCIL
The Latino-American Democratic Association (“LADA”) supports and proudly endorses community leaders and candidates for public office that champion the ideals of diversity, inclusion, and equity; leaders that recognize that representation matters. LADA supports candidates that recognize our community’s presence, embrace the issues most important to our community, and are committed to helping our communities meet the needs of our working families, our children, and senior citizens.
With our founding principles in mind and in consideration of Michael Pagan’s long-time commitment to his community and to our shared ideals, LADA proudly endorses Michael Pagan and his slate-mates Deputy Mayor Mark Schwartz and Planning Board Member Karen Lew Orgen for Teaneck Council in the upcoming May 12, 2020 election. “We are in the midst of an unprecedented time and the world is confronting the challenges of a public health pandemic that’s affirming the importance of representation in a democratic society and the dedicated and compassionate leadership of our elected representatives,” says LADA President Andrés Acebo. “A lifelong resident and proud son of Teaneck, Michael Pagan would become the first Latino ever elected to serve on the Township Council and his community engagement and representation will serve the residents of Teaneck well,” adds Mr. Acebo. Mr. Acebo further notes that: “Teaneck finds itself as the epicenter of this global health pandemic in Bergen County and the entire Teaneck community is bravely taking on the days’ challenge, and it deserves a Township Mayor and Council that will lead and represent them dutifully with empathy, resolve, and responsiveness.”
