Laura Fortgang Endorsed for State Assembly by the Latino Action Network

VERONA, NJ (Oct. 22, 2019)—Laura Fortgang, the Democratic challenger for New Jersey State Assembly in the 26th Legislative District, has been endorsed by the Latino Action Network, a coalition of organizations that work to advance inclusion, diversity and the issues of greatest importance to the Latino community.

Founded ten years ago, LAN is a broad, statewide coalition of Latino organizations dedicated to
political empowerment, the promotion of civil rights, and the elimination of disparities in the areas of education, health, and employment. LAN advocates for issues such as immigration, affordable housing, voting rights, health care and criminal justice reform.

“It is especially meaningful to me to have the support and endorsement of the Latino Action Network because I spent many formative years of my childhood living abroad in a Latin American country,” Fortgang said. “The contributions of the Latino community are woven deeply into New Jersey’s rich, cultural diversity, and New Jersey must set an example of protecting their rights. I welcome the opportunity to represent the interests of our Latino neighbors and friends as we fight for equality and fairness for all,” she said.
