Law Enforcement Backs Healey for Congress
GOP challengers endorsed by New Jersey PBA
For Immediate Release
Moorestown, May 24, 2022 – Businessman, philanthropist, and Republican candidate for New Jersey’s 3rd Congressional District Bob Healey announced today that the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association (PBA) has endorsed his candidacy in the June 7th Republican Primary.
“It is truly an honor to have men and women of law enforcement put their trust in me and this campaign,” said Healey. “The job of law enforcement officers has never been harder thanks to anti-police policies in Washington that attempt to scapegoat the 99.9% of good officers for the rogue actions of a few bad actors. It’s wrong and I won’t stand for it if I am elected.”
“In Congress, I will fight to ensure that our law enforcement officers and their families are supported with the funding, equipment, and training that they deserve,” Healey continued. “What I will never do is make them a political punching bag or impugn their integrity. These are the men and women who keep our communities safe and we need them on the job now more than ever.”
This endorsement comes weeks after Healey’s primary opponent, Ian Smith, was arrested for his second DUI, and suggested – without any evidence – that the arresting police officer was corrupt and on the take. Smith had previously served more than five years in prison for killing an innocent teenager while driving drunk and in possession of marijuana and hypodermic needles.
