LD16 Democrats Issue Statement Following Senator Menendez Indictment

HILLSBOROUGH, NJ — The 16th District Democrats issued the following statement today:

“The allegations revealed in today’s indictment are severe, and they cannot be taken lightly. Senator Menendez should receive the presumption of innocence during his legal defense. But we are calling on the Senator to resign so that New Jerseyans may continue to have confidence in their federal representation. We will continue to focus on the election immediately ahead of us, and deliver for families in the 16th District,” said Senator Andrew Zwicker, Assemblyman Roy Freiman, and Assembly Candidate Mitchelle Drulis.
