LD19 Legislators Issue Joint Statement on Pre-K Funding for Sayreville School District

Trenton –  The following statement was issued by Senator Joseph Vitale, Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin and Assemblywoman Yvonne Lopez after the recent announcement that Sayreville school district has been awarded over $2.7 million dollars to expand Pre-K education:

“This is a historic year for Sayreville. We know that early education for children provides them a resilient foundation for academic success, setting them up to flourish in school, as young adults and throughout their careers. This is one of the best investments we can make as a community and as a state and we are grateful to everyone–the legislators, the governor and the advocates—who have made this possible.

“We will continue to work tirelessly with our colleagues in the Legislature as well as the Administration in order to ensure that all of New Jersey’s children have the same opportunity for Pre-K education and programing now being afforded to Sayreville.”
