LD20: Elizabeth Development Company of New Jersey to Receive Award Totaling $600K

(UNION COUNTY) ̶The Legislative District 20 team of Senator Joseph Cryan, Assemblywoman Annette Quijano and Assemblyman Reginald Atkins announced that Elizabeth Development Company (EDC) of New Jersey has been approved to receive an award from the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit Program. The award totals $611,700.

“The Elizabeth Development Company of New Jersey works to serve Union County and the greater Northern New Jersey area by helping businesses succeed,” said Senator Joseph Cryan. “By providing necessary support to uplift the community, the Elizabeth Development Company has been an integral part of the revitalization of the City’s historic Elizabethport neighborhood. Thank you to Governor Phil Murphy, Lieutenant Governor Sheila Oliver and the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs for this generous award.”

“As a resident of the City of Elizabeth, I have seen firsthand how the Elizabeth Development Company has revitalized the Midtown section of the City,” said Assemblywoman Annette Quijano. “Thank you to the Murphy Administration for supporting these organizations that assist our communities and the people that live in them.”

“After over two years of struggle, this award shows that Legislative 20 is not only making a comeback, but we’re coming back stronger,” said Assemblyman Reginald Atkins. “This award will provide much-needed funding to the Elizabeth Development Company, an organization that will continue to aid in the economic development of our City.”

This award will provide funds for activities that will contribute to revitalizing the Historic Midtown neighborhood of Elizabeth.
