Leaders and Impacted Families To Deliver over 15,000 Petition Signatures to Speaker Coughlin , say, “Access to Driver’s Licenses is Urgent for New Jersey Families! We Need Expanded Access to Driver’s Licenses Now! ”

 

With the upcoming REAL ID Act implementation, more and more residents will face barriers when acquiring a State ID, including driver’s licenses.

 

WHEN: Thursday, February 28th 12pm

 

Where:  Assembly Speaker Craig Coughlin’s Office, 569 Rahway Ave. Woodbridge, NJ

 

WHAT: Advocates will deliver over 15,000 petition signatures and hold a rally outside of Speaker Coughlin’s in-district office to urge him to post bill A4743 to expand access to drivers licenses to more resident in New Jersey. Speakers will address the urgent need for access to drivers licenses for New Jersey residents including voters, residents with mixed-status families, TPS holders, and DACA recipients whose status could end at any time. In New Jersey over 500,000 residents are expected to benefit from the expansion of access to a standard state ID and driver’s license option.
