LEADING ENVIRONMENTAL GROUP SUPPORTS NJDEP EXTENDING PUBLIC COMMENT PERIOD FOR PERMITS
Trenton – the following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, about the decision by the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) extending the period for public comment for permits.
“The DEP plays a critical role in protecting the health and well-being of our communities and COVID, like many things, has upended the process for clear and transparent input in the public review process,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey League of Conservation Voters. “We strongly support commissioner McCabe’s administrative order to ensure the public and experts have their voices heard by extending the public comment period for permits during the pandemic.”
