LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION APPLAUDS ENVIRONMENTAL JUSTICE ENFORCEMENT ACTIONS

TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on lawsuits filed by the New Jersey Office of the Attorney General and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection against 12 polluters in New Jersey.

“Since 2018 News Jersey has been a national leader in environmental justice enforcement, and we support the decision today to file 12 new environmental enforcement actions targeting polluters across New Jersey,” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey LCV. “COVID-19 has demonstrated the health disparities suffered by people of color and exacerbated by bad environmental policies.  We can no longer allow polluters to dump in, contaminate, and poison the air, water and land in these communities. We wholeheartedly support today’s actions by Attorney General Grewal and Commissioner McCabe, and we look forward to working with them and our environmental partners to help these overburdened communities.”

The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws that protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
