LEADING POLITICAL ENVIRONMENTAL ORGANIZATION CALLS FOR SUSTAINABLE GREEN JOBS RECOVERY IN RESPONSE TO SECOND-HOTTEST SUMMER ON RECORD

TRENTON – The following is a statement from Ed Potosnak, Executive Director of New Jersey League of Conservation Voters, on New Jersey experiencing one of the hottest summers on record.

“The report released by Rutgers University is another reminder of what is at stake for all New Jerseyans. We are one of the most vulnerable states to climate change and have some of the most to lose” said Ed Potosnak, Executive Director, New Jersey LCV. “We can no longer stand idly by and expect everything will be okay. We can use this moment to craft a post COVID Sustainable Green Jobs recovery that will catalyze the investments we need to achieve a clean energy economy that addresses the climate crisis, but also prioritizes and builds a stronger and fairer New Jersey that will reduce public health disparities in communities of color. The time to act is now.”

The New Jersey League of Conservation Voters is a non-partisan organization whose mission is to elect environmental champions, hold public officials accountable, and support laws that protect our environment and improve the quality of people’s lives.
