League Conference Session to Focus on Municipal Implementation

of Cannabis Legalization

 

With the anticipated legalization of marijuana, a revamped educational session will be held as part of the 103rd Annual League of Municipalities Conference in Atlantic City.   The program will discuss the recommendations of the League’s Task Force on Marijuana and will focus on issues of particular importance 103rd Annual Conference.

 

League 1st Vice President Colleen Mahr, Mayor of Fanwood will preside at the session, which will include the Mayors who chaired the respective subcommittee of the Task Force, including Mayor Wilda Diaz of Perth Amboy, Mayor Tim McDonough of Hope,   Gary Passanante of Somerdale and Michael Venezia of Bloomfield.

 

The program will also include experts to discuss particular areas of concern for municipalities: Jeff Brown, Assistant Commissioner, Medical Marijuana Program, NJ Department of Health; Todd M. Hay, Regional Vice President of Pennoni;  Hugh O’Beirne, President of  NJ Cannabis Industry Association; and  Kabili Tayari, Office of the Mayor, Jersey City.
