Legislative Manufacturing Caucus Sets Hearing Tomorrow on Impact of Tariffs on NJ Manufacturers and Other Critical Issues

TRENTON – Senator Vin Gopal (D-Monmouth), Chair of the Legislative Manufacturing Caucus, today announced that the caucus will hold a hearing tomorrow in Metuchen on the impact of new federal tariffs on New Jersey manufacturers, and on other critical issues.

“The new federal tariffs on aluminum and steel have had a devastating effect on New Jersey manufacturers, and we want to hear firsthand about the challenges they face,” said Senator Gopal. “We also will be discussing the proposed vocational-technical bond issue that has passed both houses of the Legislature, and we expect to hear from a wide range of manufacturers on the challenges they face in an increasingly competitive global marketplace.”

The hearing will be held at 10:00 a. m., Tuesday, August 14, in the SPEX Certiplex warehouse at 15 Liberty Street in Metuchen. (Parking is available for attendees next to the 15 Liberty Street warehouse and in a second lot just past 25 Liberty Street.)
