A staunch supporter of women’s reproductive rights, Lena, who shot the video from her bed, recently had to cancel her upcoming “Lenny: America IRL” tour due to her battle with endometriosis. Like Lena, Johnson has long been an advocate for civil rights and women’s rights. Last June, Johnson traveled to Washington D.C. along with his wife Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights, to lobby members of the New Jersey Congressional Delegation to co-sponsor the Women’s Health Protection Act. Johnson was proud to accompany Nancy last year to the Supreme Court where she fought for a historic win on the Whole Woman’s Health v. Hellerstedt case, ensuring women across the country have access to the healthcare they need. As Governor, Johnson will take that fight to Trenton by restoring the funding Chris Christie cut to reproductive healthcare providers and fighting back against the Trump administration’s attacks on women’s health care.

Hi I’m Lena Dunham and this is Rico.
While I may have been born and raised in New York, New Jersey has been an incredibly important part of my life, and not just because my life partner hails from Woodcliff Lake.
It’s where I’ve spent so many days enjoying the Liberty Science Center, taking trips to places to places like Long Beach Island, going to check out the boardwalk, listen to music, or go to the mall because we didn’t have one in New York. I developed a real fondness and affinity for New Jersey, and I think it’s really important to support every state in America, but especially the ones that are your neighbors.
I think there is nothing better that we can do than support Jim Johnson for Governor. He has made his reputation on being a just man, who is invested in the rights of every single American, no matter their race, color, gender preference, religious identity. He’s not an ableist, he’s a person who desperately wants everyone who lives in New Jersey to have what they deserve. He wants to bring back things like housing, health care, the bare essentials that make it possible for the people of New Jersey to be happy, healthy, and live long great lives in such a great state! So, I’ll hope you’ll vote in the primary. I hope you’ll vote Jim Johnson, and we’re sending lots of love!
And yes, we are in bed.
