The event highlights an intergenerational dialogue with world leaders to commemorate the United Nations International Day of the Girl.
Held at the House of Lords in the Houses of Parliament, Westminster, London, the Summit addressed opportunities, challenges and emerging issues impacting girls and women. Karolina Dehnhard joined a lineup of illustrious speakers. These included Her Excellency Dr. Justina Mutale, Summit Convenor, Founder and President of the Justina Mutale Foundation and Chairperson of the National Alliance of Women’s Organisations; Baroness Sandip K. Verma, Member of the House of Lords and former Chair of UN Women UK; and Her Excellency, President Rosalia Arteaga Serrano, first female President of the Republic of Ecuador.
“It was thrilling to join a gathering of such dedicated, highly accomplished female leaders in the magnificent setting of the House of Lords,” said Karolina Dehnhard. “It’s inspiring that all of us, from presidents to students, share the same zeal for affirming and elevating female empowerment.”
Speakers and participants at the Summit highlighted the importance of investing in young women’s potential and the need for female leadership in the digital age. Karolina participated in the panel discussion on “Girls as Changemakers – Shaping a Better Tomorrow.” She discussed issues related to equal pay and opportunity as well as international divorce and access to legal counsel.
“The challenges that girls and women face are universal—and the solutions must also be far-reaching and global,” Karolina added. “The World Summit reflects the dedication we share across so many countries and cultures to creating a safer and more equitable future for women.”
