Linden Councilwoman Announces That She Will Again Seek The Democratic Party’s Nod In The June 2018 Primary Election For Mayor

Linden Councilwoman announces that she will again seek the Democratic party’s nod in the June 2018
Primary election for the office of Mayor.

Cosby, who is serving her third term as a member of Linden’s Council where she is actively representing
the residents in the 5th ward, was the Democratic party’s candidate for mayor in 2014. She was handpicked by the previous Democratic chairman, Freeholder Christopher Hudak.

Cosby, who earned 39% of the votes in a three-way race says,” My city deserves honest, inclusive,
effective and responsible leadership. That is why I am running for the office of Mayor.” Cosby wants all
the voters to consider her long list of accomplishments while serving on council for only a short time. Shesays that she is proud of her record, initiating such policies as the requirement for background checks onemployees and volunteers who work with Linden’s children. The fifth ward is the first area of Linden to install speed humps and Cosby’s reasoning for this is to make, “an area where our most vulnerable citizens; the seniors/disabled and elementary school children safer.”

In a letter to supporters, Cosby sites fiscally responsible spending as one of her goals and asks, when they choose a candidate in the primary on June 5, 2018, they consider her record of what she referred to as her,” unwavering commitment to the Linden community.” Cosby will be running against the incumbent Derek Armstead, who secured a slim victory back in the 2014 race with 43% of the votes in a three-way primary race.

Councilwoman Cosby will be making the formal announcement on Thursday, January 18
at her campaign kick-off fundraising event. You can find more information about the Councilwoman on
